There are over 430,000 acres of public access between federal, county and state land. With a little scouting, this area offers an opportunity for all types of hunting. The forest management plan contributes to the habitat that provides excellent upland hunting for ruffed grouse and woodcock. Lake Superior is a big draw for migratory waterfowl, including many species of ducks and geese. Of course, you’ll also find whitetail deer, turkey, bear and small game.
