Bayfield County Forestry & Parks Department
This permit gives the applicant (the Permittee) permission to harvest unopened conifer cones on the Bayfield County Forest. This permit only pertains to cones collected from the Bayfield County Forest. Cones collected from other public lands (i.e. Federal or State) will require a separate permit from each respective agency. To comply with the Bayfield County Miscellaneous Forest Products Ordinance, all unopened pine or spruce cones must be taken directly to a State of Wisconsin Nursery or DNR Cone Drop-Off location (see below). If requested by the County, the Permittee will be required to provide the exact location where cones were collected. Designated cone harvesting sites may be mandated by the County. If the County mandates a specific site, it will be listed on this permit and will be the only site eligible for cone collection by the Permittee. A copy of this permit must be displayed in your vehicles windshield when harvesting cones.
