  1. Apostle Islands Themed Art & Poetry

    June 3, 2021, 12:00 PM - June 30, 2021, 5:00 PM @ Washburn Cultural Center

    This June at the Washburn Cultural Center, come view artwork and poetry from two projects celebrating the 50th anniversary of Apostle Islands National Lakeshore (1970–2020). A is for Apostle Islands features original visual art and poetry for the ABCs from the forthcoming book. Island Intersections contains trios of science summaries and interpretations or responses through visual art and poetry emerging from presentations at the Apostle Islands 50th Anniversary Resource Stewardship Symposium. Dozens of artists and poets have collaborated and contributed to this exhibition, organized by Lucy Tyrrell. A is for Apostle Islands and Island Intersections both run from June 2–30 in our galleries, and a virtual exhibition is available here. Our art galleries, antiques and collectibles shop, and Vinyl Vault are currently open daily from 12–5pm on weekdays and 12–4pm on weekends!

  1. 4-H Summer Camp Registrations Due

    July 9-11, 2021 at Camp Crosswoods, Mason, WI Cost includes: 2 nights at camp, 5 meals, and lots of fun programming The camp is in a beautiful wooded area, has nice facilities, a great lake for swimming and boating, a group campfire area and all of the regular amenities. As always, the camp program will include swimming, arts and crafts, canoeing and kayaking, campfires and singing, nature education, skits, and large and small group games. Campers will be supervised by trained high school age counselors, 4-H Youth Development staff from Ashland and Bayfield Counties, and 4-H certified adult volunteers.
